NOTICE OF VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF TOWN COUNCILLOR
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a vacancy has occurred in the office of Councillor for the West Ward of the Parish of Alfreton, as a result of Councillor Sharlene Sounes vacation of office due to failure to attend meetings for a period of six months.
The vacancy will be filled by election if, within 14 days after the date of this notice, 10 electors for the West Ward give notice in writing to the Chief Executive, Amber Valley Borough Council, PO Box 15, Town Hall, Ripley, Derbyshire, DE5 3XE
asking for an election to be held to fill the vacancy.
If an election is not requested, the vacancy will be filled by the
Alfreton Town Council.
(Note: The period of 14 days referred to EXCLUDES Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays)

IF YOU WISH TO PLACE AN ITEM ON THE AGENDA YOU MUST WRITE TO ME, AT ALFRETON TOWN COUNCIL, RODGERS LANE, ALFRETON DE55 7HH, NO LATER THAN 12-00 noon on Tuesday 7th May 2024.

VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF TOWN COUNCILLOR
A vacancy has occurred in the office of Town Councillor for the West Ward of Alfreton as a result of Councillor Alan Richardson resigning.
The Town Council may fill the vacancy by co-option .
Interested persons must fulfil the following criteria;
- Be registered as a local government elector for the parish or
- Have occupied as owner or tenant, within the preceding 12 months, land or premises in the parish or
- Had their principal or only place of work, during the last 12 months, within the parish or
- Have, during the preceding 12 months, resided in the parish or within 4.8 kilometres of it
- Be 18 years of age or over
- Not be disqualified for holding office as a member of a local authority – the Town Council can advise you of this

A vacancy has occurred in the office of Town Councillor for the East Ward of Alfreton as a result of the resignation of Councillor Matt Memmott-Richardson.
The Town Council will fill the vacancy by co-option at their meeting on 17th October 2023.
Interested persons must fulfil the following criteria:
Be registered as a local government elector for the parish or have occupied as owner or tenant, within the preceding 12 months, land or premises in the parish or
