Town Mayor Mary Kerry was honoured to meet Mary Berry, Derbyshire’s Lord Lieutenant William Tucker and Dave Henson, at the Charity event for ABF Soldier’s Charity hosted by Chatsworth House Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.
New Mayor Appointed for 2018/19
At the Annual Meeting of Full Council held in May, the Town Council elected Councillor Mary Kerry as its Mayor for the 2018-19 Municipal Year.

🎅🅿️ Our FREE Christmas Parking is back!
Our popular annual free Christmas parking initiative is back for 2024, available from 1pm each day for two weeks in all the borough council’s pay-and-display car parks.
The free parking offer runs from Wednesday 11th December through to and including Thursday 26th December, encouraging residents and visitors to shop locally and support traders during the festive season.
Free parking begins at 1pm each day and ends at midnight on 26th December 2024. Please note that all other parking rules, such as those for disabled bays and maximum stays, will still apply.
Councillor Emma Monkman, Cabinet Member for Planning & Regeneration, said: "It’s my huge pleasure to launch Amber Valley Borough Council’s hugely popular free Christmas parking this year. This initiative supports local businesses during their busiest period and helps make Christmas a little less expensive for our residents and visitors."
